• The gate must be self-closing and include a lockable, self-latching device. This device must be placed inside near the top of the gate or a minimum of 1.5m above grade on the outside.
• If the gate is a double gate, one gate must follow the guidelines above, while the other gate should be equipped with a lockable drop bolt that extends down into concrete, asphalt, or paving stones by a minimum of 25 mm.
• Enclosures cannot be closer than 1.2m horizontally to the water's edge in the pool.
• The exterior must feature non-climbing facing materials.
