Aurora has developed Landscape Design Guidelines administered by the Parks Division, outlining specific landscape standards to be followed.
According to the city’s landscape guidelines, detailed designs of all landscape drawings must be submitted to and approved by the Director of Parks and Recreation Services. Coordination must be made with engineering plans and other applicable factors that contribute to the overall project. If any changes are made to the originally submitted design, these changes must be outlined in a cover letter.
Local landscape plans must detail specific information, including neighbouring land uses, grading changes that affect planting and retaining elements, existing and proposed entrances, structures such as fences and pillars, and plant materials.
